Developing new partnerships during coronavirus

23rd June 2020

The current COVID-19 crisis has certainly hit many sectors extremely hard, international recruitment being one of them.

Without the ability to travel, companies who rely on global mobility to generate income are having to find new ways to thrive.

m2r Education is one of these companies that is having to adapt.

Based in Wakefield, the multi award winning company have, for the past 10 years, provided a high quality staffing solution to the international education sector. When the coronavirus crisis hit, their world was turned upside down.

‘Businesses will not look the same once this is over’ is a phrase that has been rolled out over the past few months however do we actually know what this means?

For this West Yorkshire firm, it meant a rapid shift away from their core business else run the risk of closing their doors forever.

So what has changed in the lives of DIT Export Champions m2r Education?

Since lockdown the Director, Munir Mamujee and his hardworking team have looked at new strategies to allow them to not only get through this difficult period but come out as a stronger business.

They continue to offer invaluable support to their international partners, managing their vacancies as well as their expectations in line with current advice. However, they are now forging a path into the expanding world of online English language teaching, helping organisations manage their growing client base of knowledge hungry English language learners. On top of this they have and are still forming strategic partnerships with complementary businesses, allowing them to further develop their brand.

TEFL UK are one such strategic partner. Based in Warrington, the company offer internationally accredited teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL) courses which can be accessed 24/7 via their excellent portal. m2r Education approached them and discussed the possibility of forming an alliance, allowing the cross promotion of English language teaching jobs and related qualifications. This burgeoning relationship has gone so well that TEFL UK have now made m2r Education their UK recruitment partners.

TEFL UK Director, Phil Trainor commented, “Like most businesses, we’ve felt a huge impact from coronavirus and have had to look at every aspect of our organization to reflect the changed landscape we are now living in. Consolidation has been at the heart of our strategy and we are delighted to have formed a new alliance with m2r Education, a company that is comparatively local to us in our very globalized industry. This partnership will open up a wealth of employment opportunities and resources for our TEFL graduates, providing them with additional routes into paid teaching work in these challenging times. It’s a partnership that we believe will be of great benefit to all involved and we are looking forward to developing this alliance and working towards our shared goals going forward.

Needless to say m2r Education are delighted with this development too.

m2r Education Director Munir Mamujee - “It has been a really tough period and we are under no illusions that we are out of the woods yet. However by offering additional services which are closely aligned to our core business, we are confident that m2r Education will thrive. Watch this space for further developments too!”
