Job Description

  • Working hours: 7.30am – 4.30pm
  • Oversee curriculum planning and staff training
  • Develop and carry out lesson plans
  • Supervise and assign duties to other staff in the classroom
  • Facilitate weekly classroom staff meetings that include discussions of individual children, health and safety practices and lesson plans
  • Assist Head of School in weekly all-staff meetings
  • Work cooperatively with Head of School in achieving the goals and objectives of the school
  • Ensure that the class environment is developmentally appropriate
  • Assist with the setup of classroom, learning centres and outdoor environment
  • See that observations, assessment and portfolios are kept for each child on an ongoing basis


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in education or equivalent
  • Native English speakers preferred (flexible)
  • At least 5 years teaching experience working in primary level education
  • Ability to plan and conduct engaging lessons in a play-based, academic setting
  • Ability to communicate with parents about programs, school, child's progress and conduct parent/teacher conferences
  • Ability to work in a team with other staff and be a mentor to Teaching Assistant
  • Communicate verbally and in writing in English and use grammatically correct language
