Summary

m2r Education are proud to be working with this British Council accredited provider for teaching English. They need a Centre Manager to join them in July.

Dates:

Start Date 3rd July - contracted for 4 weeks.

Responsibilities:

  • To oversee the management of all aspects of the centre
  • To maintain a safe and friendly working environment for all staff and students. This includes making sure the centre operates within the Health & Safety guidelines as set out by the British Council.
  • To liase with the host university, parents and agents in an efficient and polite manner.
  • To deal with any complaints or grievances with staff, students, parents, host university or agents in a calm and efficient manner.
  • To ensure that standards, as described in Choices International marketing materials, are met in all areas of delivery
  • To ensure that all staff are carrying out their duties to a sufficiently high standard, and to manage staff appraisals
  • To manage staff and student discipline, making sure that rules are abided by at all times and according to Choices International Guidelines and Conditions.
  • To liase with Head Office regarding all incidents and accidents and make sure they are logged online on the Incident Form as soon as possible.
  • To be responsible for all financial aspects of the centre, including pocket money, petty cash, tuck shop, mid-week and weekend excursions and authorizing staff expenses.
  • To run the staff induction programme prior to the start of camp
  • Manage activities, administration and teaching staff, leading daily meetings and creating working rotas
  • Liasing with Roehampton University nominated representitives for day-to-day management matters and agree inventories both at the start and the end of the summer school.
  • Monitoring the cleanliness of the bedrooms and communal facilities
  • Liasing with the school cleaning staff
  • Liasing with the site conderence team to plan and prepare to mealtimes and packed luncg orders at least 1-week in advance
  • To manage student check-in and check-out, including meeting paretns and responsibility for colelcting passports, travel documents and pocket money, and keeping these safe for he duration of the student's stay.
  • To be responsible in conjunction with the Administration & Welfare Officer and teachers and Coordinator of Activities for any Risk Assessment needed for the programme.

Minimum Requirements:

  • First degree or equivalent
  • DELTA, Trinity Diploma in TESOL or equivalent
  • Previous management experience
  • Well experienced with British Council inspections
  • Strong leadership skills, be able to manage, develop and motivate and able to set high standards
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to working hours
  • Independent and able to problem solve
  • Able to deal well with pressure
  • UK Right to work

Working Hours

The teaching hours will consist from 15 to 28 hours per week depending on the session, notwithstanding the working day at Summer Camps will vary depending on the schedule of activities on a daily basis.

Rate:

  • £650 per week

3rd July Start!

For safeguarding purposes, a valid police clearance certificate / DBS is required, plus 2 professional references.
